Mako Rutledge, also known as Roadhog, is a prominent character in the Overwatch universe. He is classified as a Tank hero, known for his high survivability and ability to disrupt enemy formations.
Roadhog hails from the Australian Outback. Following the Omnic Crisis, the Australian government gifted the Outback to the Omnics, sparking outrage and violence amongst the local population. Mako was one such resident who joined the Australian Liberation Front, a militia fighting to reclaim their land.
The Liberation Front's actions became increasingly destructive, culminating in the detonation of the fusion core at the Omnium, devastating the Outback and transforming it into a radioactive wasteland. Mako, physically and psychologically scarred by the event, donned a mask and became the enforcer known as Roadhog.
He travels the globe with his partner, Junkrat, engaging in heists and other criminal activities. Roadhog's signature weapon is his Scrap Gun, a powerful shotgun that can fire both close-range and long-range projectiles. His abilities include Take a Breather, which allows him to heal himself, and Chain Hook, which he uses to pull enemies closer for a devastating follow-up attack.
